Toby Downs and Floyd Langdon

Funk

Toby Downs and Floyd Langdon are the young entrepreneurs behind the start-up Funk, a brand for young people which produces an innovative deodorant/cologne.

The 18-year-olds are YES alumni, and recent year-13 graduands from Takapuna Grammar School on Auckland’s North Shore.

They completed The Trust’s Enterprise workshop in July this year and were funded from He Kākano in August this year.

Since funding, Funk has completed further research and development and produced their first batch of 200 units with another 1,000 due for delivery in early January 2024.

They have expansion plans which include retail distribution through supermarkets, pharmacies and producing a new range of products.

“As young people in business, it’s difficult to get taken seriously sometimes so having The Prince’s Trust support is important and very helpful”
