Ryan Collier
Scendent
Ryan Collier (Ngāti Porou) is the founder of Scendent, a charitable trust which focuses on providing mental health support for young adults (16-30 year olds).
The 22-year-old, who lives in Mount Maunganui, is also a facilitator and mentor for The Prince’s Trust Aotearoa New Zealand.
He completed The Trust’s Enterprise workshop in 2022 and his business was funded from He Kākano in October last year.
The seed fund grant allowed Ryan to grow Scendent and expand his business beyond its original events and into media spaces.
Since funding, 30 young people have been supported by Scendent.
“Our next steps with Scendent are to have our media company independent, the events company and then an online store and products team.”
